Your data and privacy

What data Sitter stores, how it is protected, and how to delete it.

Sitter collects the minimum data needed to coordinate bookings. Here is what we store, how we protect it, and what you can do about it.

What data Sitter stores

For parents: your name, email, and the sitters you add (name and phone number). For sitters: your phone number, name, and any profile details you choose to add (email, bio, payment methods). Booking history is stored for both sides.

How your data is protected

Personal information like phone numbers, emails, and payment handles are encrypted in our database. A raw database export would not reveal any personal data. All connections between your device, our servers, and our database use encrypted channels.

What sitters can see

Sitters never see your personal phone number. All texts come from Sitter's phone number, not yours. Sitters see the booking date, time, any notes you add, and your first name. They do not see other sitters on your list or their ranking.

Deleting your data

Parents can delete their entire account from Settings. This permanently removes your family, all bookings, all sitter connections, and all associated data. Sitters can reply STOP to opt out of texts at any time. For a full data deletion request, email support@trysitter.com.

Minimal footprint for sitters

Sitters can use Sitter with just their phone number — no email, no password, no app download required. If you opt out by replying STOP, your status is marked inactive. To fully remove your record from the system, email support@trysitter.com.
