Creating a booking

How to pick an occasion, set a time, and start texting sitters.

To book a sitter, tap the "Book" button from your dashboard. You'll pick an occasion (which determines the default sitter order), set the date and time, and optionally add a note for the sitter.

Choosing an occasion

Occasions let you set up different sitter ratings for different situations. For example, your "Date night" occasion might rate evening sitters higher, while "Weekday afternoon" uses different ratings. Pick the occasion that fits your need.

Customizing the sitter order

After choosing an occasion, you can tap "Customize order" to rearrange which sitters are contacted first for this specific booking. Drag sitters into your preferred order. This override only applies to the current booking — it does not change your occasion ratings. Tap "Reset to default" to go back to the occasion order.

Setting the time

Enter the date and start time for when you need coverage. You can also add an end time if you know it, but it's optional. Sitters see the time in the text they receive.

What happens next

After you submit the booking, Sitter starts texting your sitters in rated order. You'll see the status update in real time on your dashboard — who was contacted, who declined, and when someone confirms. Each sitter gets their own text thread, so no one sees other sitters' responses.
