How to add a sitter and send them an opt-in link.
Before you can book, you need to add at least one sitter. Go to the Sitters tab and tap the add button. Enter their name and phone number — that's it.
After you add a sitter, Sitter sends them a one-time text with a link. They tap the link to see who added them and confirm they're willing to receive booking requests from your family. They need to opt in before they can be contacted for bookings.
If a sitter has already verified their phone number with another family on Sitter, they get a shorter invite text instead of the full opt-in flow. Either way, they're ready to receive booking texts once they confirm.
If a sitter doesn't tap the opt-in link, they won't receive any booking requests. You can resend the opt-in from the Sitters tab if needed. Sitter will never text someone who hasn't opted in.
You can add as many sitters as you want. Once they've opted in, you can rank them in the order you prefer for different occasions. Most families add between three and eight sitters.
